PRINCIPAL
It
is my pleasure to welcome you to Government College of
Engineering, Yavatmal. The institute has come into existence as a
result of conversion of old Government Polytechnic into degree institute in 2018.
Government
of Maharashtra has handed over the entire infrastructure of old institute to
engineering college which includes academic buildings, hostels, students activity
centers etc. The renovation work of almost entire campus is in progress and
shall be completed shortly. Though institute has sufficient equipments to cater
to the curriculum of the affiliated university, state government is determined
to provide other equipments in laboratories and learning resources in library needed
for research and overall development of students.
The
faculty of the institute, though limited, is experienced one and is committed
to provide student centered learning environment. Though the first batch of
engineering graduates is coming out this year, the placement record is good
enough.
The
college is committed to provide continuous support and encouragement for the
students through different co-curricular and extracurricular activities like
project based learning, employability and placement training, student clubs,
project competitions to demonstrate innovative ideas etc. The institute
has developed a strategic plan to achieve excellence in the field of technical
education.
